Directing Workshop 1
Our Directing Workshop 1 is an introduction to directing. Young directors will explore the early stages of the directing process including; the role of the director, script analysis, demos of a first rehearsal, and facilitated rehearsals in class. The instructor will select a one-act play for the class to explore. Directors then select a scene from this play to work on in class, and a final performance of each scene will be presented for the class on the final day.
- Classes will be taught virtually via Zoom (an online platform that works on your computer or mobile device…the only thing you need on your end is a camera!).
- This class is excellent for a young thespian who has at least SOME stage experience. The ideal student is excited about exploring their place “behind the table” for future theatre projects.
- Instructor: Keri Burman Castro. Ms. Castro recently completed her Master’s Degree in Theatre Directing from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
