Workshop Description
Love to dance & sing? Join us for this awesome summer workshop presented in collaboration with Chesterton Show Choirs & Premier Performance!
This Show Choir Workshop is appropriate for all abilities–even if you’ve never been in show choir or choir…all we ask is for you to be willing to work hard & have a positive attitude! Students will learn professional stage directions, singing and dancing terminology, and will prepare a FUN set of Rock and Pop music in an encouraging group environment. By working with master teachers over the course of two days, students will prepare a sensational final performance for friends & family.
As a bonus, in addition to working with our master teachers, participants will have the opportunity to work with current & former Chesterton High School Show Choir Stars who know the ins & outs of our town’s award-winning program. What a wonderful opportunity to learn from some of Chesterton’s BEST singers & dancers!
meet the masters
Kristin Morris
Kristin Morris is in her Seventeenth year teaching and currently serves as Department Chair and Director of Choral Music at Chesterton High School. She earned her Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education from Elmhurst (College) University. Her responsibilities at Chesterton High School include directing three choral ensembles, two show choirs, the fall musical and she is also the Auditorium Director. Kristin has spent the last nineteen summers on staff at Showchoir Camps of America, serving as one of their Office Managers, allowing her to connect with over 1000 eager performers and 200 choral directors each summer. She also spends time as a clinician and adjudicator with show choirs around the country.
keri & Daniel Castro
Keri & Daniel Castro are the founders of Premier Performance, a professional training program here in Chesterton. They direct and choreograph multiple musicals per year and teach classes in acting, singing, and dance year round. As members of Actor’s Equity, Keri & Daniel have performed extensively across the country and on cruise ships world-wide. Keri holds her Master’s Degree in Theatre Directing from Roosevelt University and Daniel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre from Columbia College of Chicago. Both Keri & Daniel are members of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and are founding members of NWI’s newest non-profit theatre company, Playact Theatre, Inc.
